Llanbadarn Fynydd Community Council serves the rural communities of Llanbadarn Fynydd, Llananno and Llaithddu nestled in the countryside between Llandrindod Wells and Newtown. The main trunk road from north to south Wales (A483) runs through the parish, parallel to the River Ithon. The main village of Llanbadarn Fynydd has a community shop and village hall.

Meetings
The Community Council holds monthly meetings on a Thursday evening at 7:30 pm.  Virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Annual General Meeting is held in May  where the Chair person and other Representatives are elected.

Funding and Finance
The Community Council raises its finance by means of the annual precept. This is collected by Powys County Council as the smallest element of the overall Council Tax, and is then paid over to this Community Council. The Community Council sets a budget each autumn for the following financial year.

Llanbadarn Fynydd Community Council prepares the Accounts ready for the Internal  Audit inspection after the year end at 31 March.  Once the Internal Audit is approved by Council this is then sent to the External Audit which is usually ready for public inspection around August/September of the same year.  Once all this is approved by the External Auditor, a copy is displayed on local Notice Boards and posted on this website.
